your CSI Chapter: Ideas to Build a a a a T Carolina State University has more than 50 active members including current students alumni and faculty Over the the past few years the the counselor education program at at at NC State has undergone some signi cant changes including the implementation of an an an online counselor education program in in in in addition to to the the the already established master’s and doctoral programs As the the the program program grew so did the the the CSI chapter now including members throughout the the state and surrounding areas Chapter leaders were then tasked with bringing all students together To accomplish this goal Nu Sigma Chi chapter leaders adopted a a a a a a a a a one- community model that was rst introduced through a a a a a a a a a collaboration project for master’s students known as as as SC3 SC3 SC3 SC3 is a a a a a a a a a a training program program enhancement within the the the master’s- level program program that introduced the the the theme of School–College–Community Collaboration and emphasized the the importance of collaborating with other helping professionals to to provide provide better counseling services The
goal of this initiative was to to to provide provide an opportunity to to learn about the settings service philosophies work responsibilities challenges and strengths of colleagues in other specialty
counseling areas (Baker et al 2009) With a a a a a a a a a a continued decrease in in in in in meeting
attendance speci c c c c c c and strategic planning went into the development of an an an an intentional integrative one-community approach which aided the the entirety of the the Counselor Education community community The
ultimate goal was to create
a a a a a a a one-community model integrating the in in in in in ux of online and on-campus cohorts as as emphasized in in in in in in the CSI Days Chapter Leader Training This was achieved by creating a a a a a a a a a a a co-presidency with goals to: (a) implement a a a a a a a a a a wellness initiative (b) incorporate professional development opportunities and (c) encourage networking within the counseling profession and community According to Foster and the Wellness Cube Model (2010) CSI is a a a a a contextual variable to wellness providing experience outside of the the classroom that can aid student wellness wellness To integrate this initiative the the chapter intentionally implemented a a a a a a a a a wellness wellness social event once a a a a a a a a a a a a month for the academic year This was organized by on-campus and online masters students serving as as as co-chairs of the Nu Sigma Chi Social Social Committee Social Social events consisted of of pumpkin painting roller skating and end of of semester celebrations To add to this the social committee ordered food
