events accessible for for all all members In the the the the past the the the the chapter chapter chapter attempted to to to engage in in professional professional development but attendance wavered To incorporate all all students the the the the chapter chapter partnered with faculty to to to to to bring online online webinars webinars to to to to to the the community These webinars webinars served as as a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a way to to to to to connect online online online and and on-campus students students in in in in in in in in in in in one virtual place while exposing students students to to to to to topics such as as as crisis licensure insurance and and and online online counseling counseling These webinars also function as as a a a a a a a a a a a a a a bridge between students and and established professionals in in in in in in in the counseling counseling eld Networking is is is a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a large part of of of this profession profession but can be challenging and and intimidating
to to students students students students By incorporating a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a one-community model the chapter facilitated networking between online masters masters students students students students on-campus masters masters students students students students and and and doctoral students students students students through various events events initiatives and and and meetings Faculty and and and alumni were present at at these events events which students students do not often gain exposure to to Networking allows for students students to to feel a a a a a a a a a a a a sense of of of of community with the the intention of of of of lowering the the ever-growing amounts of of of of imposter syndrome that are present The one-community model is supported by evidence of increased online student attendance and and and and and participation and and and and and the successful co-president collaboration between an an an an an an an online online master’s student student and and and and and and a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a doctoral student student While this model model continues to to to grow and and and and and and expand it it is is our our hope that other chapters can use the the the one-community model model to to to encourage and and and and and incorporate their own chapter chapter growth participation and development Fall 2019
